If you are an honoree

You will know on Monday 15 February 2027, under embargo. Gold Award recipients are asked for a 120-second self-recorded clip — a phone is fine, and we post-produce it. A brief and an upload link come with the notification. Nobody is required to appear, and declining changes nothing about the honour.

From 2028

The announcement settles permanently on the last Thursday of January, beginning Thursday 27 January 2028. Late January is the quietest point in the local-government year — after the winter association meetings and before budget season — which is when this audience can actually attend.
